Hi Ray,
Apologies – I should have mentioned that most of the images in the report shouldn’t be published online – ie the ones in their storage boxes or with wrapping etc (like the one in your email below). The images I’ve attached are ok for you to use though.
Would you mind taking down the images and not publishing any of the others apart from the ones attached for the time being? When we have the rest of the works properly photographed we will be able to send you the files.
Sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate you putting your mind to this project!
All the best,
Deirdre

FOR 76|9291 – 82.1595 I was unable to determine just what this piece is. I’m imagining it is one of the pieces in the workshop we used to call a bibbed pendant. IF a phoneSNAP was an option at sometime that’d be great … its worked well before.
I’ll work through the images and post my muzingz on the website and you, or anybody if you/they want will be able glean whatever. I think RIZOMATICS URL work and because I do I think I need to put into work!
Good morning Ray,
Here’s another version of the report with larger images – hopefully this helps you to identify the works.
With best wishes,
Deirdre

Dear Ray,
Thanks for your email and for the information about your website, Jack and Grace too – I found her email from the significance report she completed on the Sturt collection so have been in touch with her.
I’ve reattached the document that lists all the works by you in the NGA collection. Many have circa dates (ie c 1967, c 1977), but I thought it might be worth asking if you remembered the exact year they were made.
With best wishes,
Deirdre

Hello, … It seems that I might not have clicked SEND …sorry
I’ve done a quickish dredge and as I found stuff that MAY be of interests. If it’s not I’m told that out there somewhere there are BLACKholes where the dull, unwanted and pointless can find a way to disappear. Over to you!
Cheers,
Ray

Dear Ray,
It’s a pleasure to be in contact with you, my name is Deirdre and I am the assistant curator in Australian Art at the National Gallery.
We are doing some research into the decorative arts collection and contacted Michael Harris at the Sturt School for some more information about lapidarist Jack Southerden. He passed on your email address as he thought you might be the best person for us to contact.
Grateful for any biographical information details you’re able to share about Jack.
On another note, we’re preparing a report of the works we have by you in the collection, some of which have circa dates attached to them. Would you mind looking at this and seeing if you could refine the dates on some of these? I should be able to send the document in a few days.
With best wishes,
Deirdre
